Dholera SIR 2021: Trillion Dollar Hi-Tech Industry in Dholera Smart City
Dholera Smart City, the future city of Gujarat, is once again alive with fiery activities. The first greenfield smart city, Dholera SIR (Special Investment Region), is accelerating industrial growth, ensuring the overall progress of the Indian economy. Let’s explore how technological innovations in Dholera SIR are transforming Indian industries.
The city has enhanced its smart infrastructure by adopting the ABCD (Administration and Business Center for Dholera) building design.
ABCD is located in a commercial zone and serves as the central administrative office.
Backed by technology, all legal permissions will be administered through a single-window clearance feature, eliminating the need for multiple counter visits.
The building will function as a command and control center for ICT and SCADA sensors.
In case of a fire, SCADA sensors will immediately report the incident to the ABCD building for swift action.
The Dholera International Airport is planned to have two runways of 2910m and 4000m with parallel taxiways.
It is expected to handle 50 million passengers annually.
Strategically located near Rajkot, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, the airport will help decongest Ahmedabad Airport.
The Ahmedabad-DSIR Monorail project has received approval under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
The monorail will have seven stations along the Ahmedabad-Dholera expressway.
Travel time between DSIR and Ahmedabad will be approximately 45 minutes.
To boost connectivity, Dholera will also have a Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) with a computerized control system.
Out of the total 1483 km corridor, 38% falls in Gujarat, attracting investments worth 90 Billion USD.
Additionally, six mega industrial nodes have been proposed for Gujarat.
To promote sustainable development, Larsen and Toubro will construct an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
The ETP will ensure efficient waste management by detoxifying industrial effluents before releasing them into water bodies.
The government has signed an MoU with Cerestra Ventures to establish a Gujarat Special Education Region (G-SER).
5000 acres of land in DSIR will be developed into:
University District
Discovery District
Innovation District
Student Housing and Sports Facilities
Leading tech companies like Wipro, IBM, and Cisco have been invited to contribute to Dholera’s ICT infrastructure.
These companies will provide a networking framework for the Trillion Dollar Baby.
The city follows a trunk infrastructure approach, making it a dig-free city.
Unlike other cities, Dholera will have a one-time dig for underground Gas Pipelines, Sewage, and Drainage Lines.
This strategy will protect the city from flooding and drainage issues.
Dholera SIR offers a “Plug n Play” approach, making it an ideal choice for investors and businesses.
The ready infrastructure allows companies to establish operations seamlessly.
The region can accommodate 1.2 lakh residents and generate significant employment opportunities.
